Japanese Consul General visits GSC Investment Center

20 April 2021 | Japan’s Consul General Yoshiaki Miwa visited the General Santos City Investment Center for the expansion and strengthening of economic cooperation and promotion between Japan and the Local Government of General Santos City.Consul General Miwa assured to be a catalyst of cooperation and promotion of General Santos City to the Japanese business community in the area of culture, tourism, trade, and investments. Mr. Leonard Flores, City Economic Manager highlighted that the city has a Master Plan for Sustainable Urban Infrastructure Development (SUID). Flores added, “the present comprehensive land use plan (CLUP), investment priority areas (IPAs), and the five (5) business cases of the SUID master plan will serve as a blueprint in promoting the city’s competitiveness and business potentials to Japan”.Ms. Ellorence Cruz of the Investment Division of CEMCDO also conveyed that Gensan would be a strategic location for Japanese companies to expand market in the BIMP-EAGA Region. Likewise, there will be other business opportunities in relation to the newly approved Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act and the Strategic Investment Priorities Plan of the national government.
