General Santos City |12 October 2020 – The Local Government of General Santos City along with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will launch on Thursday, 15 October 2020, a local regulatory policy called “Coordinated Operations to Defeat the Epidemic (CODE) in the Workplaces” in the city. This is another way of engaging directly with business sectors to take responsibility and be accountable in assisting the government to end the COVID19 pandemic. The Gensan CODE strategy aims for the creation, establishment, or appointment of occupational safety and health mechanism in the workplaces, especially on COVID-19 control. Specifically, this initiative which is anchored on the joint memorandum circular of DOLE and DTI on effective COVID19 management mandates companies and business establishments to submit their reduction and control measures and resiliency programs and activities. Herein policy also includes provisions on detection, management, isolation, and testing. The City Mayor’s Office, the City Administrator’s Office, the City Health Office, and the City Economic Management and Cooperative Development Office (CEMCDO) therefore invite business organizations and industry associations, including major retailers and service providers, banking institutions, exporters, tourism-related establishment, and micro, small and medium enterprises to participate in this virtual conference.
