SFFAII INTRODUCED NEW CHAIRMAN FOR 2019 NATIONAL TUNA CONGRESS


The SOCSKSARGEN Federation of Fishing and Allied Industry, Inc. (SFFAII) on Thursday, March 21, met participants from the different sectors of the fishing industry and stakeholders from government agencies to discuss the hosting of the 21st National Tuna Congress with theme “The Tuna Industry: Embracing Technologies and Sustainable Strategies”on September 4-6, 2019 at SM Trade Malls 3rd floor, SM City, General Santos City.

SFFAII President & National Tuna Congress Chairman, Mr. Joaquin Lu introduced the NTC’s newly elected Chairman, Mr. Philip Andrew Yu during opening remarks. He thanked those people who supported the congress for the past years. “I would like to thank all our friends and business partners for the support during my time, and hope to do the same assistance with our new chairman”. Lu said.

The meeting discussed the agendas about confirming committees, proposed theme of the National Tuna Congress, chairmanship, meeting schedules, participation issues and more.

DOST Secretary, Engr. Fortunato T. Dela Peña will be the keynote speaker of the opening of the congress, and Committee Chairman on Aquaculture and Fisheries will give a special message on the closing of the congress.

The event was attended by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), the Local Government Unit of General Santos which represented by Agriculturist Office, CEMCDO Investments, CMO-Protocol Division and representatives from General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO).
